Finance Manager

Finance Manager needed for a leading company in Erbil, Iraq.

Job Requirements:

  • Master’s in Finance from a reputable university, preferably with a professional certification in a related field (CMA, ACCA, CPA, CFA…).
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in a similar position with a medium sized or large enterprise.
  • Experience in the Iraqi market is a plus.
  • Excellent people management and leadership skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Fluent in Arabic and English.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Follows-up on the preparation of annual budget and periodic estimation and outlook in order to ensure accurate and valid implementation.
  • Controls the preparation of monthly, quarterly and yearly financial results to check validity.
  • Supervises the annual inventory and procedures for the evaluation of stock to reflect the real value.
  • Analyzes the profitability for better optimization.
  • Prepares the feasibility studies for the company to have a clear 5 years plan.
  • Analyzes and interprets cash flows to recommend cash levels for future needs.
  • Analyzes on an ongoing basis actual cost figures versus budgeted ones to propose remedial actions. His involvement in this area are related but not limited to: Identifying, establishing and acting on cost saving plans by monitoring the costs incurred on an ongoing basis to ensure ongoing cost efficiency and productivity.
  • Oversees and supervises all financial reporting and fiscal analysis for the organization to ensure accuracy and timeliness with set deadlines.
  • Identifies any factors which could be eventually impacting the company and takes necessary measures in order to protect a company’s financial well-being.
  • Develops and enhances proper mechanisms for managing all financial matters of the company in order to minimize related risks.
  • Monitors company’s financial policies and corporate accounting standard to ensure their accurate executions.
  • Monitors on the credit limits periods granted and cash collection to secure company’s rights and evaluate the company risk.
  • Coordinates with external auditors to develop the annual audit and preparation of annual inventory and financial statement.
  • Actively contributes to managing the relations with third counterparts such as banks, auditors, solicitors… by negotiating service level agreements, evaluating their involvement and deliverables and taking necessary action to ensure acceptance and matching with initial requirements.
  • Investigates any discrepancy or deviation from service level agreements and contracts with third parties in order to take necessary corrective action to ensure compliance to the contract.
  • Provides financial support and advice to colleagues in order to enable them making sound decisions regarding their business.
  • Contributes to developing and improving policies and procedures with relation to finance and makes sure that they are being properly maintained and applied in order to ensure compliance.
  • Actively contributes to strategic planning by providing valuable input and opinion.
  • Keeps up to date with financial and industry developments to identify and relay key information to all the concerned parties in a timely manner.
  • Sets his own departmental objectives along with his team and ensures those are aligned with overall company strategy in order to enhance business results.
  • Effectively monitors the implementation of cascaded company objectives for proper update and alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Recruits, trains, appraises, motivates and develops reporting staff to ensure that the company has the necessary competence and skill base and that the staff is motivated and enabled to maximize its potential and contribution to the business for ultimate growth sustainability.
  • Leads the team by example by ensuring own behavior is exemplary of the Group values and by promoting good relationships and a culture which is conducive of sound communication and healthy work environment to maximize productivity of the people.
  • Keeps the team informed about the priorities, activities and events to ensure proper coordination and smooth implementation of activities.
  • Gathers, analyses data and generates reports to ensure management has the relevant information needed to support decision-making. Reports are related but not limited to performance, profitability and operations efficiency.
  • Reviews the accuracy and completeness of all required updated data for reporting purposes as per standards.
  • Reviews key documents before their dispatch to ensure accuracy of correspondence as well as that sensitive information is protected and threats are controlled.
  • Recommends and implements changes to improve productivity and profitability of his department.
  • Develops departmental policies and standard operating procedures to establish and maintain efficient operations.
